Trump Denies Planning Military Strikes on Venezuela Amid Rising Tensions

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has denied reports claiming he is preparing military strikes inside Venezuela, calling them “completely false.” Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said his administration is “focused on restoring order through partnerships, not invasions.”

The statement comes as U.S. Navy operations in the Caribbean intensify against suspected drug-trafficking vessels linked to Venezuela. Earlier this month, U.S. forces intercepted several boats near Venezuelan waters, escalating already strained relations between Washington and Caracas.

The Venezuelan government condemned the operations, labeling them “acts of aggression,” while opposition figures remain divided. Some argue U.S. pressure could help force political reform, while others warn it risks worsening the humanitarian crisis.

Despite rumors circulating widely on social media, no official documents or credible sources support claims of an imminent U.S. strike inside Venezuelan territory. Analysts note that the heightened rhetoric may reflect internal U.S. political maneuvering ahead of upcoming elections.

International observers, including regional diplomats, are urging restraint on both sides. “The last thing Latin America needs is another flashpoint,” one European envoy told Reuters.

The situation remains fluid, but for now, Trump’s denial appears intended to cool speculation and maintain diplomatic room to maneuver.
